Bellam Sunnundalu, also known as Bellam Minapappu Laddu, are a traditional Andhra sweet made from urad dal (black gram lentils) and jaggery (bellam). They are a popular delicacy in South Indian cuisine, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
To make Bellam Sunnundalu, urad dal is dry-roasted until golden brown, then ground into a fine powder. Jaggery is melted to form a thick syrup. The powdered urad dal is mixed with the jaggery syrup along with ghee (clarified butter) and optionally flavored with cardamom powder. The mixture is then shaped into small, round laddus (balls) while still warm.
Bellam Sunnundalu are known for their rich, nutty flavor with a natural sweetness from the jaggery. They have a slightly crunchy texture on the outside and a soft, melt-in-your-mouth interior. These laddus are often enjoyed as a nutritious snack or dessert, particularly during festivals, celebrations, and special occasions
